Overview[]

In Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL, Flapjack is a starter character. His in-game bio states Flapjack is quick and has great air abilities, warning players to not be deceived by this scrawny 7-year old.

Strategy[]

Pros[]

  • Decent PTE

Cons[]

  • Weakest damage output in the game
  • Counter doesn't even work; only used to drop through PTEs and shield or in cheese situations
  • Sluggish attacks; heavy endlag in comparison with others

Flapjack is an incredibly underwhelming character as he has some of the weakest and ineffective attacks in the game. His attack speed is average at best and can be rather sluggish in comparison to many of the other characters in the game. Flapjack also had many multi-hit moves that just simply can't work as they can be shielded mid-use.

Flapjack's main strategy is centered around the only thing going for him, his PTE. He wants to hit side knockout as it creates four cubes consistently. He can also keep pressing an attack with his side aerial or neutral aerial. He can use side signature and neutral signature to get further damage or range in. Up knockout and up signature can be used as well. Flapjack uses counter but only to avoid powerful attacks such as PTEs as offensively it is useless, can be shielded mid-use, and punishable on hit.

Bio[]

Raised by Bubbie, the talking whale, Flapjack is an ambitious boy with many goals. Together with Captain K'nuckles, Flapjack keeps his sights on locating the infamous candied island, as well as earning the respected title of "Adventurer." He's young, oblivious to danger, and a loyal friend; he's basically got it all...except a last name.

In PTE, Flapjack is quick and has great air abilities. Don't be deceived by this scrawny 7-year old.

Bio Stats[]

  • Speed: 4/5
  • Power: 2/5
  • Air: 4/5
  • Range: 2/5

Explanation[]

These stats are provided in the game in character bios. They do not affect gameplay at all and can sometimes be misleading or need an explanation.

  • Flapjack is another example of the developers overrating the speed of a character, as Flapjack has many moves with average startup. 3/5 would be a better reflection of speed.
    • The developers likely refer to running speed. Although despite this, he runs slower than Dexter who is considered 3/5 in speed.
  • Flapjack has low knockback and damage power, and overall has the lowest damage output of all characters in the game. 1/5 would be a better reflection of power.
  • Flapjack has terrible aerial attacks with low speed and one of the lowest damage, finding the most use out of his side and neutral air. He has a fairly average recovery. Overall, Flapjack is a low aerial threat and as a result, 1/5 would be a passable reflection of air.
  • Flapjack has a projectile but it is one of the laggiest projectiles to throw in the game. He can space opponents with his other candy based attacks which count as disjointed attacks.

  • Flapjack chuckles to himself. When he is attacked while laughing, Flapjack will tickle his enemy, dealing 1% per hit. If all hits connect it may deal around 30% in total. However, this counter can be shielded during the move since it is an untrue multi-hit.
    • Unlike how it is used in the Super Smash Bros. games, Flapjack's counter will counter almost every move in the game, even grabs. However the only exceptions to this are Aku's and Vilgax's laser attacks.

Punch Time Explosion: Sea of Teeth[]

Flapjack is dancing around when suddenly Eight-Armed-Willy shows up and attacks him. Flapjack dodges by jumping on top of the attacking arm. But the arm causes 50% damage to anyone in contact, creating 4 power cubes.

Synergy: Dee-Dee[]

Flapjack takes his hand to her, asking to dance. Dee-Dee happily takes both of Flapjack's hand and they become a mini dancing tornado. The player can move around freely and damage for 10% to anyone who crosses their path.

It is currently unknown how but computer players have demonstrated the ability to use a specially designed up signature during this state.
