Johnny Bravo is a muscular beefcake who is much better at creating catchphrases than catching women. He is known for his quick erratic movements and elvis-like voice.

Overview[]

Johnny Bravo is an assist character in the 3DS version and an unlockable playable character in the XL game.

In Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion for the 3DS, Johnny is not a playable character but appears as an assist character. Once summoned Johnny will jump in on his bike before saying a snarky remark.

In the XL version, you can unlock him by buying him at the store for 1500 points. His in-game bio states him as a well balanced fighter with a strong signature involving his motorcycle.

Strategy[]

Pros[]

  • Fastest projectile fire rate in the game
  • Oddly quick attack speed

Cons[]

  • Mediocre moveset; Overreliance on his two best moves making him somewhat predictable
  • Some attacks have notable endlag
  • Terrible recovery

Johnny relies just about entirely on three signature attacks, being comb, hog ride, and whoa mama. Johnny mostly wants to hit his up signature and lead opponents above him to land it. His aerials are on the mediocre side but may find some use. His knockout attacks are notoriously weak, with the exception of down knockout which comes out slower than his other knockouts. Landing a down knockout however will send the character forward and allow Johnny to apply more comb pressure.

Bio[]

Johnny Bravo is a muscular beefcake who is much better at creating catchphrases than catching women. His series ran for four seasons for a total of 67 episodes. Known for his quick movements, and Elvis-like voice, Johnny was a welcome addition to Punch Time Explosion.

In PTE, Johnny Bravo is well-balanced and has a powerful signature move that involves the use of his motorcycle.

Bio stats[]

  • Speed: 3/5
  • Power: 3/5
  • Air: 4/5
  • Range: 2/5

Explanation[]

These stats are provided in the game in character bios. They do not affect gameplay at all and can sometimes be misleading or need an explanation.

  • Johnny has many speedy attacks, while his "stronger" attacks are much more sluggish in comparison. 4/5 would be a better reflection of speed regardless.
  • Johnny's moves do average damage and knockback for the most part.
  • Johnny's up signature is a powerful move that can mow through most characters in his way, and goes diagonally upward. He also can deny characters with said move in the air. However his recovery isn't very good. His aerial attacks are decently powerful but below average in speed. 2/5 would be a better reflection of air.
  • Range is listed at 2/5 because of his melee moves being the bulk of his moveset. However Johnny does come equipped with a projectile, has a movement focused attack in his bike, and is mostly centered around his projectiles strategy wise. 3/5 would be a passable reflection of range.

Movelist[]

Normal Attacks[]

  • Neutral: Johnny chops with his left arm (2%), the other (2%) and then the left again (4%, 1 power cube)
  • Running: Johnny literally skids across the floor. Deals 8% and creates 2 power cubes.
  • Up: Johnny quickly reaches his arm up. Deals 9% and creates 2 power cubes.
  • Down: Johnny does a backhand chop across the floor. Deals 8% and creates 2 power cubes.
  • Throw: Johnny swipes out in front of him. Deals 5% when thrown.

Knockout Attacks[]

  • Side: Johnny spins around sticking his arms and a leg out. Deals 8%~11% uncharged~charged.
    • This multi-hit wasn't coded right, resulting in the move being slightly underwhelming in damage power. However, it still has traces of multi-hit properties, dealing the largest amount of shield/boss damage in the game.
  • Up: Johnny hops up and slaps the air. Deals 16%~23% uncharged~charged. Creates 4 power cubes.
  • Down: Johnny brings down his elbow, and then chops fully with his arm. Deals 12%~17% uncharged~charged. Creates 3 power cubes at 12%~13% and 4 power cubes above 14%.

Aerial Attacks[]

  • Neutral: Johnny does a sexy pose while a yellow aura surrounds him and hearts pop out above him. Deals 11% and creates 2 power cubes.
  • Side: Johnny swings forward and does a double axe handle. Deals 9% and creates 2 power cubes
  • Up: Johnny rests his head on his arms while the rest of his body somehow sticks upward and his legs kick up. Deals 8% and creates 2 power cubes.
  • Down: Johnny twists then stomps both legs in mid air. Deals 10% and creates 2 power cubes.

Signature Attacks[]

Neutral: Comb Toss

  • Johnny Bravo tosses a comb as a projectile. Deals 7% and creates 1 power cube.

Side: Hog Ride

  • Johnny's motorcycle comes out from nowhere as Johnny hops on and rides it forward for a short time. Deals 13% and creates 3 power cubes.
    • Funnily enough, this move is one of Johnny's greatest kill moves. This is strange because this move is based on his 3DS version's assist, as most playable former assists get their assist attacks as PTEs. This is the case with Him on specific stages and Aku. However, Bravo gets a new PTE animation and gets to use his former assist attack limitlessly.

Up: Whoa, Mama!

  • Johnny flips up into the air diagonally. Deals 16% and creates 4 power cubes.

Down: Karate Combo

  • Johnny does a series of chops, or three hits, each dealing 8% and creating 2 power cubes.

Punch Time Explosion: Wild Show[]

Johnny calls for the attention of multiple women and flexes, causing them to go lovestruck. He then attacks around him in a series of "karate" chops. The first hit deals 34% while the rest deals 19%. Each attack creates 4 power cubes.

Synergy: Dracula[]

Johnny dances with Dracula which attracts a herd of multiple women. During the synergy, Johnny makes poses which causes a flash in the direction he poses (19% damage). The area Johnny is dancing also "attracts" opponents into the danger zone.
