Buttercup is one of the Powerpuff Girls. Her signature color is lime green and she is also best known for her aggressive and tomboyish demeanor and dislike of "girly" things. Her first appearance was in the short Whoopass Stew. She is the 'spice' of the trio.

Overview[]

In Cartoon Network Punch Time Explosion XL, Buttercup is a starter character. Her in-game bio states Buttercup packs a punch and is the strongest of the Powerpuff Girls.

Strategy[]

Pros[]

  • Decent speedy character

Cons[]

  • If PTE misses, it's easy to exploit due to shielding or counters

Buttercup is one of the most standard and basic characters in the game, being a "shoto" gameplay wise. She has no significant advantages or disadvantages other than having a somewhat speedy frame data; as well as high run speed. Her damage output is also not as impressive but can pass as average. She has a projectile giving her some decent range capabilities, and her recovery is also standard. Buttercup is primarily a character who focuses on short combos.

Buttercup has a few good signatures. Her fireball is great for dealig with enemy projectiles and deals a great amount of damage for a projectile. Up signature is good for ending combos and deals good amounts of damage. Down signature is a standard slam signature and covers decent ground especially against recovering players. Side signature is incredibly weak as it can be shielded during use and leaves Buttercup incredibly wide open; making it undoubtedly her worst move.

Buttercup uses her side and down knockout attack to finish combos as well. Most commonly Buttercup will likely be using side knockout. Down knockout is great at securing kills.

Buttercup has strong aerials that are used to extend her combos. However, up air sends opponents directly up and can't be followed up with anything else. Down air also puts her in landing lag however it is short enough to sometimes combo with a side knockout.

Buttercup's PTE is decent as it can get kills, however if it initially misses an airborne opponent it can be shielded rather easily resulting in a dud.

Bio[]

The toughest of the Powerpuff Girls is Buttercup, the "spice" in the formula used in their creation. Of all the girls, Buttercup is the only one without a unique superpower (she can curl her tongue, though). If you ever end up dating Buttercup, be prepared to let her wear the pants in the relationship.

In PTE, Buttercup packs a powerful punch and is the strongest of the girls.

Bio Stats[]

  • Speed: 5/5
  • Power: 4/5
  • Air: 3/5
  • Range: 2/5

Explanation[]

These stats are provided in the game in character bios. They do not affect gameplay at all and can sometimes be misleading or need an explanation.

  • Buttercup's attacks come out at a good speed, being almost comparable to Blossom. 4/5 would be a better reflection of speed.
    • This stat likely refers to run speed. In this case, Buttercup is one of the top 3 fastest characters when running being comparable to Blossom, if not the same.
  • Buttercup deals a relatively lower damage output compared to other characters, even Blossom. 2/5 would be a better reflection of power.
  • Buttercup has an average recovery and comes with very standard speedy but mild aerial attacks.
  • While Buttercup may have a projectile, Buttercup is more of a melee all around character who focuses on simple combos.
